(Bear market) Yatırımcıların gelecek konusunda karamsar olduğu, hisse se­nedi fiyatlarının genel olarak düşük dü­zeylerde kalacağı beklentisinin yaygın­laştığı bir yatırım ortamı “ayı piyasası” olarak adlandırılır. Bu ortamda hisse senedi satış eğilimi güçlü olduğu için endeks çoğunlukla aşağı yönlü bir eği­lim gösterir.
